Let's do this!
I would like to invite your high school boys volleyball team to join us in raising as much money as we can to decrease the teen depression and suicide rate in Colorado. Let’s have a little friendly competition and see which team can raise the most money to help teens in our community.
Why this cause?
The volleyball community lost a player to suicide last year. He was a teammate and a friend to many of us. A recent study showed that depression rates among teenagers has increased from 8.7% to 13.2% over the last 12 years. That is a 52% increase! The Johnson Depression Center at the University of Colorado provides educational programs directly to schools. 100% of the profits from this project will be donated to the Colorado Depression Center so more teens with depression can get help.
Pick a game in April
Each team can pick a regular set of games in April and raise pledges for that date. Your pledges can be a flat amount or pledges can be raised per point. It's all good!
Are you in?
Let me know if your team is going to participate. The teams that raise the most money will win a prize in May (highest total raised by a school and highest average raised per player). We may play for different high schools, but together we can make a big difference.
